Our Program

9 Point Plan for Resolving our Client’s IRS Tax Problems

  1. We will thoroughly discuss your tax situation with you:  It is important that we obtain a thorough understanding of your tax situation.  The personal interview provides the background necessary to develop the appropriate strategy for solving your IRS problem.
  2. A Certified Public Accountant will handle your case:  With more than 20 years of experience successfully negotiating tax problems with the IRS, ATRS knows who to speak with and what information is needed to resolve your tax issues.  Representation by a CPA is critical as CPA’s are one of the few people allowed to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
  3. We will prepare a Power of Attorney for you to sign:  The Power of Attorney puts the IRS on notice that you have retained representation and identifies the specific tax years that ATRS is permitted to discuss.  Upon filing the Power of Attorney with the IRS all telephone calls and correspondence regarding your outstanding tax issues will come to us.  At this time, we can also request a 60 day moratorium on all action from the IRS – including the accrual of interest and penalties assessed against you.
  4. We will send you an easy-to-follow checklist of additional information:  Preparing complicated IRS forms is our business.  You, however, will have to provide the information needed to complete the IRS forms accurately and completely.  We will make this process as easy as possible by sending you our easy-to follow checklist.
  5. We will prepare all forms required by the IRS to resolve your IRS problem:  We will prepare all forms required by the IRS.  All you have to do is review the forms and sign them.  We take care of the rest.
  6. We will pull the master file of your accounts from the IRS:  By reviewing this file, we will be able to accurately determine what the IRS thinks it knows about your tax situation.  Our experience tells us that what the IRS thinks it knows is not the entire story.
  7. We will determine the appropriate strategy for solving your IRS problem:  Every taxpayer’s situation is unique.  With the information you provide, we will develop a strategy to get you the lowest possible settlement allowed by law.  We will discuss this strategy with you before we discuss it with the IRS.
  8. We will negotiate with the IRS to obtain the lowest possible settlement allowed by law:  We handle all negotiations with the IRS in order to get you the best deal possible.  We utilize the Professional Provider Line and negotiate with division manager and IRS personnel authorized to make decisions.  We negotiate line by line to insure that any settlement agreement is something that you can afford.
  9. We will thoroughly discuss all aspects of your settlement with you:  We will explain all aspects of your settlement with you and will answer any and all questions you may have. We want to make sure you are completely satisfied.
